Sometimes you fall in love with someone you shouldn’t. This kind of love happens in life, and it’s happening to Sarah. Alex Merrick is her business competitor, and what’s more, his company destroyed her family. Alex drove Sarah’s father out of business, and as a result he passed away from anxiety. Despite all of this, Alex asks Sarah out as if nothing had ever happened. Sarah is sure that he is no more than a troublesome playboy, but yet instead of resisting, she finds herself longing for his kiss…
The Millionaire Rebellious Mistress Harlequin comics eBook Catherine George Miyako Fujiomi
I generally don't write reviews but felt this story deserved better. The blurb and title are both misleading. In short summary Alex is a property developer who loses out on a bid to someone else (Sarah, our heroine). The story takes up again after she is nearly finished with refurbishing a set of cottages and they meet again. We had an excellent opportunity for the foolish misunderstandings that are de rigeur for Presents but this was rapidly cleared up. I have not read Ms. George previously but I intend to keep an eye out for her. She had a sensible hero and heroine who were both successful at their chosen fields. The unequal power, intelligence, finance situation that you often see was not as strong. She was independent and happy and he just added to her life and vice versa. And they both had relationships with other people (mother, godfather), it was great! There were villains but they had minimal impact on the relationship and added to the story by giving providing development for both the hero and heroine.Essentially, if you like mature (emotionally) couples and a well-written story that does not rely on standard ploys, I recommend this book.
